Welcome to Not Just Software Inc's Cloud Course

By accessing or using our course content, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully.

1. Course Access and License

1.1 Lifetime Access

Your purchase provides you with lifetime access to the course content. "Lifetime" refers to the period during which the course is actively maintained and offered by Not Just Software Inc., not the lifetime of the purchaser. If Cloud Course is ever discontinued or significantly restructured, we will provide at least 90 days' notice to allow you to download or complete any course materials.

1.2 Single-User License

Your purchase grants you a single-user, non-transferable license to access and use the course materials for your personal use only.

1.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

2.1 Ownership

All course materials, including but not limited to videos, text, code samples, exercises, and documentation, are owned by Not Just Software Inc. and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

2.2 Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or share access to the course materials
  • Modify, create derivative works, or reverse engineer any content
  • Use the content for commercial purposes
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Record, duplicate, or redistribute any portion of the course

3. Payment and Access

3.1 Fees

The course is offered for a one-time payment that grants lifetime access as defined in section 1.1.

3.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your financial information is not stored on our servers.

4. Course Content

4.1 AWS Services

The course covers AWS services as they exist at the time of recording. AWS services may change over time, and while we strive to keep content updated, some material may become outdated as AWS evolves.

4.2 No Affiliation

This course is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

4.3 Updates

We may update course content periodically to reflect changes in AWS services. These updates are provided at our discretion.

5. Discord Community

5.1 Community Guidelines

If you participate in our Discord community, you agree to:

  • Treat others with respect
  • Not post inappropriate, offensive, or promotional content
  • Use the community for course-related discussions only

5.2 No Official Support

The Discord community is provided as a courtesy for peer-to-peer interaction. It is not an official support channel, and responses from community members, including the course creator, are provided on a voluntary basis.

6. Termination

6.1 Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the course, without prior notice or liability, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

7.1 "As Is" Basis

The course is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the course content.

7.2 No Guaranteed Outcomes

We do not guarantee any specific results or outcomes from using our course. Success depends on various factors, including your effort, prior knowledge, and proper application of the concepts taught.

8. Limitation of Liability

Not Just Software Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the course.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on our website.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Cloud Course CLI Tool - Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Cloud Course CLI tool ("cloud-course"). By downloading, installing, or using the CLI Tool, you agree to be bound by these terms.

License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the CLI Tool solely in connection with your participation in the Cloud Course.

AWS Account Access

  1. AWS SSO Authentication: The CLI Tool uses AWS SSO (Single Sign-On) to access your AWS account. You are solely responsible for authenticating with AWS and maintaining the security of your AWS account.

  2. Read-Only Access: The CLI Tool performs read-only operations on your AWS resources to assess your tutorial implementations. The tool will NOT:

    • Create new resources in your AWS account
    • Modify existing resources in your AWS account
    • Delete resources from your AWS account

  3. AWS Services: The CLI Tool may access various AWS services as part of its assessment functionality, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudFront, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM.

  4. AWS Charges: You acknowledge that:

    • You are solely responsible for any charges incurred in your AWS account
    • Tutorial implementations may create AWS resources that incur charges
    • We strongly recommend setting up AWS budgets and alerts
    • The CLI Tool itself does not create billable resources

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the CLI Tool only in accordance with these terms. Specifically, you agree NOT to:

  1. Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the CLI Tool
  2. Use the CLI Tool with AWS accounts that you do not own or have authorized access to
  3. Distribute, rent, lease, or provide access to the CLI Tool to any third party
  4. Use the CLI Tool to circumvent any limitations or security measures on our services
  5. Use the CLI Tool in any way that violates AWS's terms of service

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE CLI TOOL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CLI TOOL WILL FUNCTION UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE CLI TOOL IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  1. YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE CLI TOOL
  2. ANY CHANGES MADE TO YOUR AWS ACCOUNT OR RESOURCES
  3. UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR AWS ACCOUNT
  4. ANY CHARGES INCURRED WITH AWS AS A RESULT OF FOLLOWING COURSE TUTORIALS

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless our company, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the CLI Tool, or your violation of these terms.
